Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) will organise the event in order to formulate recommendations to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A four-member CPD delegation, led by its chairman Prof Rehman Sobhan, informed this to President Abdul Hamid when they made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban yesterday.

President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.

Representatives from the South Asian countries, international agencies and development partners will take part in the summit.  Policymakers, economists and business leaders from Bangladesh will also participate in the two-day summit.

The CPD team invited the President to attend the inaugural session of the meet as the chief guest.

Abdul Hamid welcomed the endeavour to organise the summit and hoped that the knowledge of the participants will play an important role in further development of Bangladesh and other South Asian countries and achieving the SDGs. The CPD delegation also apprised the President of its various activities.

Secretaries concerned to the President Office were present.
