Dr Debapriya attended the inter-univ research symposium as Chief Guest

Inter-univ undergraduate research symposium at UIU

 

School of Business and Economics at United International University organized the first nationwide Inter-University Undergraduate Research Symposium of the country. The award giving ceremony was held on November 12 at the main campus of the university. Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya, distinguished fellow of Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD), was present as chief guest. ASM Mainuddin Monem, managing director & CEO of Abdul Monem Economic Zone Limited (AMEZL) and Mohammed Nurul Amin, managing director & CEO, of Meghna Bank Limited, were present as special guests.

167 undergraduate students from 31 public and private universities of the country participated in five different tracks – Accounting &AIS, Economics, Finance & Banking, Management &HRM and Marketing of the symposium. Top 12 participants from each track were invited to present their research papers. All participants received certificates and gift packs. In total, there were 15 winners. In each track, the best research paper won the first prize of BDT 50,000 followed by BDT 30,000 for the first runner up and BDT 20,000 for the second runner up.

It was announced that the 2nd Inter-University Undergraduate Research Symposium will take place between September and November of 2018.
