The CPD organised an expert group consultation on Employment Generation Programme under Social Safety Net: Challenges of Effective Implementation at CPD Dialogue Room on 18 April 2010. To initiate the discussion, Mr Towfiqul Islam Khan, Senior Research Associate, CPD presented the preliminary findings of the study. The study aimed to assess the operational mechanisms of two of the government’s safety net programmes, namely Employment Generation for the Hardcore Poor and National Service.
While Dr Fahmida Khatun, Additional Director, Research, CPD moderated the discussion, the meeting was attended by relevant government officials, researchers and NGO representatives.
