The article titled “South Asian Approach to Sustainable Development Goals” was published as the cover feature in the first issue of the twelfth volume of the Trade Insight by South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics and Environment (SAWTEE).

The paper seeks to situate the challenges of implementation of the SDGs in the South Asian context. Noting that the delivery of the MDGs in the region had been quite uneven, the paper urges for exploiting the potential for regional cooperation for fuller achievement of the SDGs. In this connection, the paper tries to chart a South Asian pathway for SDGs implementation and put forward a few concrete proposals for consideration of the upcoming South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit in Islamabad in November 2016.
