Dr Debapriya Bhattachariya is a #HeForShe champion. Here he speaks about his work regarding gender issues, particularly in terms of inspiring the young community through his lectures and analysis of research outputs. He hopes that his work has made young people more sensitive about gender equality, especially when it comes to women’s participation not only in the economy but also in social life. Particularly changing the power relationships within the household, within the family.
Dr Bhattacharya, a macro-economist and public policy analyst, is a Distinguished Fellow at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) – a globally reputed think-tank in Bangladesh. He is the Chair of Southern Voice on Post-MDG International Development Goals – a network of 48 think tanks from South Asia, Africa, and Latin America. He is the Convenor of the Citizen’s Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh.
