Research Assistant
The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), a leading think tank in Bangladesh, invites applications from qualified and motivated individuals for a short-term Research Assistant position to support the Members of Parliament (MPs) at the Budget Helpdesk for providing budgetary information and data support during the National Budget Session in June 2026 at the Bangladesh Parliament premises.
The selected candidates will be responsible for supporting timely responses to queries from Members of Parliament (MPs) by collecting, compiling, and organising relevant information, and providing descriptions against the collected data.
This opportunity offers valuable exposure to parliamentary proceedings related to the national budget, including budget deliberations.
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- A degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Economics, or a related discipline from a reputed university with a minimum CGPA of 3.30
- Strong academic background and analytical ability
- Excellent proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding both Bangla and English
- Proficiency in MS Office (data management experience is a plus)
- Availability during parliamentary session hours: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM (hours may extend)
The engagement will be for a period of 25 working days only. An allowance of Taka 20,000 will be offered to the Research Assistant.
Please note that this contractual modality does not lead to future employment at CPD but rather offers hands-on exposure to national budget deliberations at the Bangladesh Parliament and direct engagement with policymakers at the highest level.
