Research Associate (RA)

The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) invites applications from promising young researchers (in the position of Research Associate) who are keen to pursue an intellectually challenging career in development research. The candidate will have a strong interest to sharpen analytical skills, and benefit from policy exposure, in a broad range of areas including macroeconomics, international economics and global agendas for development including trade, investment, finance and climate change-related issues. The applicant should be highly motivated and committed and must be capable of displaying learning ability and a capacity to work effectively as a team player.

Candidates need to have a Post graduate/Masters degree in Economics from a reputed university. A minimum CGPA of 3.60 is required, which can be relaxed in case of candidates with foreign Masters degree, publication(s) in reputed journals and relevant job experience. The candidate must have good analytical ability, excellent drafting skill in English, strong communication skill and high computer literacy.

A gross salary starting from Taka 42,000 per month will be offered to successful candidates, along with other admissible benefits. Actual compensation package will be offered based on assessment of the candidate’s qualifications and suitability, including experience.

Internship at CPD   

The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) is offering internship opportunities to young aspirants who are interested to pursue a research-oriented career, particularly in the area of global 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development. CPD internship will provide individual(s) an excellent opportunity to have intensive interaction with a leading civil society think tank in Bangladesh, and to gain first-hand exposure in frontier developmental issues and related critical policy challenges facing the country. CPD will involve the Interns in its ongoing research programmes, where they will be required to provide supervised research inputs. The internship also provides opportunities to participate in various in-house, national and international dialogues, organised by the CPD on a regular basis.

The candidates need to have a recently completed Post-graduate degree in Economics, Development Studies, Statistics, Business Administration or other Social Science disciplines (e.g. International Relations, Public Administration etc.), with a minimum CGPA of 3.50. Those awaiting Masters result may also apply.

Interns will be expected to provide support to the core research teams at CPD. Good analytical abilities, excellent drafting skills in both Bangla and English, strong communication skills and high computer literacy are essential requirements. They should also be willing to work under pressure in a highly competitive environment.

An allowance of Tk. 15,000 per month will be offered to an Intern. Interns will be recruited for a maximum of three months, and based on their performance, they may be offered the post of Programme/Research Associate at CPD.
