  1. Communication Officer for CPD RMG Study

    The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), a reputed think tank, is planning to recruit a communication officer for a survey-based research programme which seeks to carry out an in-depth study of the ongoing upgradation and restructuring taking place in Bangladesh’s export-oriented apparels sector. The position looks for a professional who is keen to pursue an intellectually challenging work that demands commitment, innovative approach, initiative and creativity in the field of communication. The position will call for taking lead in establishing an excellent stream of communication related activities in connection with implementing the programme. Concrete tasks will include knowledge and experience in undertaking assignments, preparing communication materials based on the intermediate and final output of the study and related materials and collation of information and data related to the RMG sector for communication purpose, maintaining and updating the website of the CPD-RMG Study (http://rmg-study.cpd.org.bd/), networking with key concerned stakeholders through web-based communication tools such as face book twitter etc., developing a web-based discussion platform and writing blogs.

    An ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree preferably in Journalism or Communications from a reputed university, with keen interest in issues of development. S/he will be proficient in english (both speaking and writing) and have excellent communication skills. The candidate should have at least two years of experience in undertaking responsibilities in areas mentioned above in a national/international organization and have experience in developing web-based content (video/audio, podcasting, wikis, blogs, email, mobile, social networking and user generated content). An excellent knowledge as regards MS Office and web publishing tools is essential for this position.

    This is a contractual position, initially for one year that can be extended upon his/her performance. A gross salary starting from Taka 35 thousand per month will be offered along with other admissible benefits (as per contract). Actual compensation package will be based on assessment of the candidate’s qualifications and suitability including experience.

  2. Programme Manager for CPD RMG Study

    The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) is planning to recruit a Programme Manager for a survey-based research programme which seeks to carry out an in-depth study of the ongoing upgradation and restructuring taking place in Bangladesh’s export-oriented apparels sector. CPD is looking for a qualified individual who is interested to spend an intellectually challenging time, for a specific period by undertaking dedicated project assignments. The position demands management qualities, academic knack, commitment, initiative, innovation and creativity. Individuals with specialization in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies or MBA are invited to apply.

    The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in Research Management in academic/research/development organization. S/he should have proven ability as regards writing reports and preparing project documents and project proposals in english. The candidate will be required to liaise with various national and international stakeholders in the RMG sector including government, private sector, international buyers/retailers, trade unions and workers’ representatives. Experience in managing large survey-based research projects will be considered an added advantage. The candidate should be ready to undertake field visits within the country as part of managing the programme.  The job demands ability to work under pressure.

    Macroeconomics and Global Economic Issues

    The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), a think-tank of global repute, will recruit promising young researchers (Senior Research Associate) who are interested to pursue an intellectually challenging career focusing on macroeconomics and global economic issues including trade, investment and finance. Candidates have to be highly motivated and committed to research work and long term career development plan. Candidates must be capable of displaying learning ability.

    Candidates need to have a Post graduate/Masters degree in Economics or Development Studies from a reputed university. A minimum CGPA of 3.60 is required which can be relaxed in case of candidates with a Masters degree from a foreign university, publication(s) in journals and relevant job experience. Additionally, candidates for this position will be required to have at least two (2) years of relevant research experience at recognised institutions. Good analytical ability, excellent drafting skill in English, strong communication skill and high computer literacy are must.

  5. Programme Manager

    The successful candidate will have Masters in Social Science or in other related disciplines with good academic results from a reputed university. The candidate should have excellent written and oral skills – both in Bangla and English. S/he should have good ability to work with Microsoft office and various computer based outreach tools. The successful candidate will need to have experience in managing and coordinating different projects simultaneously. Responsibilities of the position will also include designing and preparation of activity plans and implement the project activities in accordance with the project requirements. The candidates will have to organise meetings related to the projects and prepare notes. Preparation of periodic project reports will be an important task of this position. The candidate will also help the project team in bringing out various types of publications based on project output. The candidate must have good social skills and be capable of displaying learning ability and ready to undertake field visits.

  6. Executive Assistant

    The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), a premier think-tank of global repute, will recruit urgently an Executive Assistant for a senior staff. This is an important administrative position.

    The ideal candidate will have successfully completed a degree from a recognised university. S/he must be proficient in English (speaking and writing) and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Consideration will be given for both educational achievement and work experience.

    Candidate should be proficient in operating MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail; managing files, databases and office correspondence; planning, organising and reporting on administrative issues including overseas travel and dealing with high-level national and international officials. Relevant professional experience is necessary; international exposure will be an asset. Candidates must be capable of displaying learning ability and supportive of knowledge sharing.
