Professor Jomo Kwame Sundaram, a leading economist and expert on the political economy, Member, Council of Eminent Persons, Malaysia, and Former Assistant Secretary General, United Nations, delivered the CPD Anniversary Lecture 2018 on 8 August. The following day, 9 September 2018, he had an up-close meeting with the CPD researchers. The meeting was held at the CPD dialogue room.
Professor Sundaram spelled out his views on food security and nutrition, trade, investment and connectivity, and development finance while responding to the questions from the CPD young researchers.
Professor Sundaram advised young researchers to uphold a pragmatic approach and to be a keen reader of alternative ideas and perspectives.
