The New Japanese GSP Schemes for LDCs and Bangladesh’s Export Opportunities
This paper makes an analysis of the potential implications of the market access initiative of Japan under the New GSP Scheme. The paper identifies products which receive preferential market access in the Japanese market and addresses key supply-side constraints which could inhibit the realisation of the potential export opportunities in the Japanese market. The study identifies a number of key areas for technical assistance which could enable Bangladesh to take advantage of the enhanced market access in Japan.
