Compared to male, females are significantly more vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change especially in a country like Bangladesh governed by patriarchal norms, opined Jamie McClung and Chista Keramati as they shared the findings of their ongoing master’s thesis at the Department of Global Affairs Sustainable Development, University of Notre Dame, USA, with young researchers from CPD at the Young Scholar Seminar Series Session (YSSS). The discussion was held at CPD Dialogue room on 12 July 2018.
Jamie and Chista interviewed women in Shatakira, Sirajgonj, and Teknaf while also had several meetings with policymakers and academics.
Young researchers from CPD proactively shared their views and suggestions. In their opinion, such research will be helpful in making gender-sensitive policy.
