COVID-19 and Employment Related Adjustments: Findings from Household Survey in Bangladesh

    Key motivation of the study is to assess pandemic-induced employment impacts at household level to have a deeper understanding of their implications in attaining SDG 8 in Bangladesh. This is the focus of Chapter 2, following the introduction. An analytical framework, key concepts and survey methodology are presented in Chapter 3. Survey findings on key aspects of employment and employment-related adjustment processes in the backdrop of the pandemic are discussed in Chapter 4. Chapter 5 focuses on the stimulus packages and the social safety net programmes implemented in view of the pandemic and assesses their employment sensitivity. Chapter 6 concludes the discussion with a summary of the findings and presentation of a set of policy recommendations.
