The current government is giving special priority to the science, information, and communication technology sector, identifying it as the new driving force of the country’s economic growth. The current government’s election manifesto also promised to create 2 lakh direct jobs in these five sectors – cybersecurity, BPO, AI-data, semiconductors, and Industry 4.0 – and another 8 lakh indirectly through freelancing and content creators, and to increase the contribution of the ICT sector to GDP from 5 to 10 per cent [1]. In that vein, the government is taking various steps to achieve the goal of building a future-oriented and technology-inclusive Bangladesh by utilising the rapid progress of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and artificial intelligence in the light of the ‘Bangladesh First’ policy.
