The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) in a press briefing at its office released the report titled ‘Analytical Review of Bangladesh’s Macroeconomic Performance in FY2012-13: Second Reading’ on 3 June 2013. The report was prepared under CPD’s Independent Review of Bangladesh’s Development (IRBD) programme as part of which, CPD undertakes periodic review and analysis of the state of Bangladesh Economy.
On behalf of the CPD team, Professor Mustafizur Rahman, Executive Director, CPD highlighted the salient features of the report such as the banking sector, review of the development of the power sector, financing the Padma Bridge project, external sector performances and economic implications of hartals. Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya, Distinguished Fellow, CPD shared his views on the success and challenges the government faced during the implementation of FY2013-budget.
The briefing session was widely covered by a large number of print and electronic media. The CPD team responded to a volley of questions from the press which covered a wide spectrum of issues.
