Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) has been invited by Center for Global Development (CGD) to join the High-Level Seminar on Perspectives of the Global South on Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) Reforms on 11-12 September 2023 in Rabat, Morocco. Policy Center for the New South (PCNS), Morocco and the Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee (RBWC), USA are co-organisers of the event.
At the event, CPD is organising a session on, ‘How do we assess the “development effectiveness” of MDBs in the new context?’ which will be held on Monday, 11 September 2023 at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat. The session will focus on the Southern recipients’ views on the proposed MDB reforms highlighting “development effectiveness” based on ownership, partnership, transparency and accountability.
Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya, Distinguished Fellow, CPD and Non-Resident Fellow, CGD will be chairing the session. Mr Towfiqul Islam Khan, Senior Research Fellow, CPD will be joining the panel of esteemed speakers.
The other panel speakers are Dr Naoko Ishii, Professor and Executive Vice President, University of Tokyo, Ms Amshika Amar, Associate Fellow, Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSOP), and Ms Nathalie Delapalme, Executive Director, Mo Ibrahim Foundation.
The outcome of the session will be fed into CPD’s efforts, in partnership with CGD, to highlight Southern perspectives in MDB reform initiatives.
