Our Research
As a think tank committed to contributing towards participatory policymaking, CPD’s wide-ranging research portfolio focuses on key concerns, contemporary developments and anticipated future trends at national, regional and global levels. It strives to bridge the gap between empirical research and policy advocacy through a sustained effort in public policy analysis. In recognition of its track record in research, dialogue and policy influencing, CPD has been selected as one of the awardees of the Think Tank Initiative (TTI) through a globally competitive selection process for two consecutive times.
The Centre’s flagship programme “Independent Review of Bangladesh’s Development (IRBD)” monitors the policy environment, macroeconomic indicators and sectoral variables of the country. CPD also partners with research institutions and agencies of global acclaim. CPD, in partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF), is preparing the Bangladesh chapter of the Global Competitiveness Report (GCR) since 2001.
CPD’s other areas of research include regional connectivity and trade facilitation, agriculture, investment promotion, infrastructure and enterprise development, poverty, inequality and social protection, resource mobilization and fiscal policies, climate change and environment, and SDGs.
