Research Associate

The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) invites applications from promising researchers who are keen to pursue an intellectually challenging career in development research. The candidate for this position should possess comprehensive knowledge and expertise in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. A demonstrated interest in various economic realms, including labour economics, environmental economics, financial economics, international economics, economic development, and macroeconomic policy, is crucial. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing research and analytical support across projects, including data management and analysis, documentation, and drafting of research outputs. The candidate will also gain valuable policy exposure at CPD in a broad range of economic, environmental, and social issues.

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Economics with a minimum CGPA of 3.60 and a track record of consistent academic excellence. Candidates must also demonstrate strong analytical abilities, excellent drafting skills, and high computer literacy. The ability to use software (Excel, Stata, R, Python, EViews, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) for statistical and econometric analysis is essential.

Desirable qualifications include a history of academic publications and research experience, whether gained professionally, through freelance work, or as part of university coursework. Applicants should be highly motivated and committed, with a proven ability to learn and the capacity to work effectively as part of a team.

A gross salary starting from Taka 61,600 per month will be offered to successful candidates, along with other admissible benefits. The actual compensation package will be determined based on an assessment of the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and suitability. This is a regular, full-time position, and all entitlements as a regular employee will be applicable as per CPD service rules.
