    Least Developed Countries in Trade Negotiations
    Planning Process and Information Needs

    This paper highlights the importance of information in the context of the growing involvement of LDCs in trade negotiations. It provides an overview of the negotiation process, emphasising the importance of planning. Based on a review of the relevant literature, the steps involved in the negotiation process are discussed and illustrated using examples drawn from the Bangladesh experience. The paper then identifies the information and knowledge needs of the LDCs at each step of the process.
