In an interview with Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Dr Fahmida Khatun, Executive Director, Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), talks about how Think Tank Initiative (TTI) enabled the organisation to make a transformative journey into the global space through initiatives such as the Southern Voice and LDC IV Monitor.
TTI is dedicated to strengthening the capacity of independent policy research institutions in the developing world. Launched in 2008 and managed IDRC, TTI is a partnership between five donors.
Giving the example of CPD studies on the Rana Plaza Tragedy and Rohingya Crisis, Dr Khatun said how TTI has made way for think tanks to undertake timely research. “We could also now become a global think tank through its credibility, capacity and also competence”, said Dr Khatun.
