Bangladesh has made significant progress in SDG 5 on gender equality and women empowerment compared to other South Asian countries. CPD is always vocal about ensuring women empowerment and gender equality. In view of Bangladesh’s journey of attaining gender equality and eradicating violence against women and girls, CPD undertook programme in 2022 that assessed the country context, policies and budgets of the fiscal year against gender-based violence. This programme highlighted the priority setting for policymakers, and evaluated implemented services, aiming at accelerating progress in ensuring the rights and well-being of women and girls at the country level.
