The proposed education budget allocation for FY2027 accounts for 13.06 per cent of the total proposed budget and 1.79 per cent of the GDP. In FY2027, the government allocated BDT 122,495 crore for the education sector, representing a 28 per cent increase from the previous year’s proposed budget of BDT 95,644 crore.  The education budget is primarily allocated to meet operational expenses rather than development expenditures, which may undermine the quality of education.
