1. Director of Finance and Administration

The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), a think tank of global repute, invites applications for the position of Director of Finance and Administration. As a member of the senior management team, the Director will lead CPD’s Finance and Administration Division, overseeing financial management, administration, governance, and compliance. This role requires a strategic and results-oriented leader with strong professional integrity, sound technical expertise, and excellent management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities of the position will include:

  • Provide strategic leadership for CPD’s Finance and Administration Division, ensuring sound financial management, efficient administration, and institutional sustainability.
  • Oversee all finance, accounting, treasury, procurement, administrative, and asset management functions.
  • Lead institutional budgeting, financial planning, cash flow management, and long-term financial strategy.
  • Ensure robust financial governance, internal controls, risk management, and compliance with statutory, donor, and organisational policies.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual financial statements, project accounts, management reports, and donor financial reports.
  • Manage corporate tax, VAT, regulatory compliance, and provide guidance on employee tax-related matters.
  • Liaise with the NGO Affairs Bureau, government agencies, auditors, banks, development partners, and funding organisations.
  • Lead financial aspects of grant management, including budget development, fund utilisation, financial monitoring, and donor compliance.
  • Review and negotiate financial terms of contracts, agreements, and partnerships to safeguard CPD’s institutional interests.
  • Lead, mentor, and strengthen the capacity of the Finance and Administration team while promoting a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the Executive Director and senior management in strategic decision-making through high-quality financial analysis, reporting, and policy advice.

The responsibilities outlined above are indicative and not exhaustive. The Director may be assigned additional duties commensurate with the position by the Executive Director.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate must hold an MBA in Finance or a Post Graduate degree in a relevant discipline from a reputed institution. A professional qualification such as a Chartered Accountant (CA), CMA, or ACCA will be considered a substantial advantage. Applicants must possess at least 15 years of progressive professional experience, including a minimum of 10 years in a Senior Management position within the Finance and Accounts division of a reputable organisation inside the development sector. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of excellence across Financial Governance, Project/Grant Management, Compliance, Statutory Governance, and Operational & Resource Optimisation. Technical proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel, alongside an excellent working knowledge of specialised accounting software, MS Office, and Outlook, is strictly required. Furthermore, this leadership role demands exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with high-level institutional stakeholders. The candidate must be a team player with an amiable personality, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong proficiency in professional networking. The position requires a high capacity to work creatively and independently under pressure.

Compensation & Admissible Benefits: A competitive salary, including bonuses and other admissible benefits, will be offered in accordance with organisational policies. The actual compensation package will be based on assessment of the candidate’s qualifications and suitability, including relevant experience.

2. Programme Associate (Research)

The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) invites applications from promising young researchers who are keen to pursue an intellectually challenging career in development research for the position of Programme Associate under the Research Division. Ideal candidates should have a good knowledge of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics, with a keen interest in such areas as trade and international economics, macro-financial-fiscal management and policies, and in issues of broad development interests. This is a unique opportunity for aspiring researchers to engage in intellectual exploration across various economic fields, contributing to impactful research in a leading civil society think tank environment and making a real difference in the world of policymaking.

Requirements: The candidate would need to have a degree in Economics with a minimum CGPA of 3.60 from a reputed university. Skills related to the use of tools of statistical analysis are highly desirable. The candidate should have excellent drafting skills in english. Experience in research and publication, either professionally, freelance or as part of academic coursework, is also highly desirable.

A consolidated salary starting from Taka 35,000 per month will be offered to successful candidates, along with other admissible benefits. The actual compensation package will be based on the assessment of the candidate’s qualifications and suitability, including experience.
