Dr Fahmida Khatun, Executive Director of the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), spoke as a Panellist at a recent high-level event during the 2025 Spring Meetings of the The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. The meeting was hosted by the Boston University Global Development Policy Center at the sidelines of the WB-IMF Spring Meetings. The event brought together V20 Fellows, development organisations, and leading research institutions to explore the role of Country Platforms in accelerating the implementation of Climate Prosperity Plans.
In her deliberation, Dr Fahmida focused on various climate initiatives of the Bangladesh government, including Climate Prosperity Plans, climate-focused public financial management and climate budget. She highlighted the need to mobilise climate finance through various channels, including blended finance and the private sector. Dr Fahmida also discussed the Resilience and Sustainability Fund (RSF) by the IMF to Bangladesh and the challenges of implementing the conditionalities under the RSF.
