The Prize Giving Ceremony marked the grand finale of CPD Climate Week 2025, bringing to a close a week filled with engaging discussions, innovative presentations, and groundbreaking climate solutions. Chaired by Dr Fahmida Khatun, Executive Director of the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), the ceremony recognised the outstanding efforts of young climate leaders across various competitions, including the Climate Olympiad, Policy Case Competition, Green Project Exhibition, and the Best Paper Awards.
In her opening remarks, Dr Fahmida Khatun expressed her gratitude to all participants, organisers, and partners, including the Embassy of Denmark and the World Bank, for their support in making the event a success.
She praised the passion and creativity demonstrated by the youth throughout the week and encouraged them to continue pushing for sustainable change. “The energy, innovation, and dedication shown by the youth this week have been inspiring. It is clear that the next generation is ready to take on the challenge of climate change. Let’s continue to nurture this momentum for a sustainable future,” she said.

Mr Anders Karlsen, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Denmark in Bangladesh, also shared his thoughts, stressing the need to move beyond discussions and focus on implementing real solutions.
“We have talked enough. It’s time to move beyond conversation and focus on tangible action. Denmark is committed to working with Bangladesh to combat climate change and drive sustainable development. Your ideas and actions today will shape the future,” he remarked, underlining the critical role youth plays in the global fight against climate change.
The ceremony not only recognised the winners of the competitions but also celebrated the Best Paper Award recipients, highlighting the crucial role of research in shaping effective climate action.
Before the ceremony concluded, Mr Avra Bhattacharjee, Additional Director of Dialogue and Outreach at CPD, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all participants and the CPD team for making the event a resounding success.
“We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making this week a meaningful experience. Special thanks to the CPD team and all our participants for their unwavering commitment to climate action,” Mr. Bhattacharjee said.

As CPD Climate Week 2025 came to an end, the event served as a powerful reminder of the growing momentum for climate action in Bangladesh. With global leaders preparing for COP 30 in November, the week’s activities reinforced the importance of youth involvement in addressing climate change.
Looking ahead, the hope is to make every week a “Climate Week,” where individuals, communities, and nations collaborate to reduce emissions, adapt to climate change, and protect the planet for future generations.
